comfort overflowing

God comforts me in all my troubles. He surrounds me with songs of deliverance. Through Christ my comfort overflows. I am hidden with Christ in God. He has called me by my name - I am His! He heals my broken heart. He cups His hand under my chin and lifts my head. He holds me in His everlasing arms.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.

2 Corinthians 1:3,4 NIV

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.

Psalm 32: 7 NKJV

For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden in Christ with God.

Colossians 3:3 AMP

Fear not, for I have redeemed you [randsomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.

Isaiah 43:1-3 AMP

He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

Psalm 147:3 AMP

But you Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 3:3 AMP

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV

Perfect read for today as I sit and think about the 4 police men who were killed in Oakland not far from where I work. Sometimes you just need some verses to help you along and these were great.

Dear Melody, I am sorry to hear about the death of those policemen and can only imagine how unsettling it would be to have something like this occur close to work or home. Find comfort in God's Word and His abiding presence ~ The Lord is your protector, He is a shield for you!
Hugs,
Kalianne

***LAST POST***

Dear Friends,

This beautiful post, a prayer penned by a very spiritual lady (who has helped me so much), will be my last post!

Regrettably Internet in the wilderness is slow and blogging is taking up more time than I have!

To all my wonderful bloggy friends - I promise drop by from time to time to catch up in the coming months. I won't forget you!

be blessed,
~Kalianne

This is such a comforting post...these verses are one dear to me and written on my heart.

I'm sad to hear you will be gone again, but understand. The Lord has more for you in this hidden time in the wilderness. Someday you will return to us, and have much to share of His heart that was learned and received in this season. I will look forward to that day. Bless you deeply in Christ...live deeply in Him<><

Dear Friends,

Thank you for dropping by! It's lovely to hear from you! These scriptures are very comforting - God's Word is faithful and true!

I don't know about other parts of the world -but our weather sure is crazy.

We've had gusting gale force winds for almost 24 hours. The roads are littered with branches and debris. The Alpine region above is experiencing blizzards and snow to 1000m. It's early for snow in Australia. Perhaps we'll be having a bumper snow season? Better re-check the wood supply!

By way of update – yes we are still enjoying our new wilderness lifestyle. Finding self-sufficiency is a necessity out here - but surprisingly fun to do.

Our garden is bursting with late autumn produce and the olive trees are ready to harvest (gulp). We're keeping chickens now and considering dairy goats also.

Our rooster's name is Sir Lancelot (he has earned his name). What a gallant little fellow. His girls are Bella, Coco, Miss Marple, Truffle, Mammy and Swanhilda. I must say young hens are the silliest creatures I've ever known, but very endearing also.

This city girl is learning to deal with dirt under finger nails, animal manure and DIY plumbing! Lol! But it’s all good. Truly!

Sir Lancelot is calling for his breakfast...I'd better go!

God Bless! Hope to do some visiting soon!!
